July 20, 2006 ~ RIP Booty 1990 - 2006

We put her down at 15:30 yesterday. Overall she had been healthy her entire life with no major problems. But recently she had developed kidney tumours/failure and hadn't eaten or drank for a few days. She went missing Monday night and after looking all night Dad found her Tuesday afternoon under some rubble in our neighbours' yard, it seems she was trying to find a place to die. She was 16, ancient in cat years to say the least, but still very active and playful up until about two weeks ago.

Beverly and I got her from the SPCA in 1990. It's funny cuz the kitten we originally wanted was ganked from us by the time we came back with the money to adopt it, so we "settled" for Boot, but it was fate that brought her to us. She spent the first few years of her life with me but then latched on to Dad. He took great care of her and she was always happy, even if she didn't show it all the time, and don't even think about rubbing her tummy. Dad was also in a better and happier place when she was around. They really were kindred spirits. Considering she was an outdoor cat in the extreme, and we have coyotes and racoons all over the place, it's amazing she made it this far. She had a couple of close calls but always made it through. Thanks for the memories, Boo-Boo, we'll miss you.

Well, what can I say? It's been a few months and it's been crazy! My focus has been on my company, Dream Star Media, and it's occupying all of my time... which is great! Our summer is booked solid. It's going to be difficult and challenging, but ultimately rewarding. Our ad came out in our local wedding planner guide and it looks great. I've also just re-vamped our company website as well.

In my career I've taken a management position and that's going great as well. It's great to finally be able to coach others and be directly responsible for how the place runs, and I'm able to get things done correctly. Onward and upward!

Happy Birthday to me! Yes, it's true, I'm 32. I had a great time with my friends bowling and seeing Underworld: Evolution. I haven't done any updates for a while since I haven't really done anything that I can put up here. I've been extremely busy with my company and it's really taking off so it looks like I'll be getting out of retail at some point in the near future.

Long time no see! I've been super busy and things are looking up for me after all these years toiling in the dungeon of wasted talent. I've started up a photography/videography company with three old friends. We each have different talents to bring to the table and it's starting to take off. We've been showing people some rough work we've done on our first full wedding and they have been blown away so far and there's a buzz! Check it out at www.dreamstarmedia.ca and tell your friends about us!

I also completed work on a very time-consuming project for Kidzsmart. It seemed simple enough, to do some text changes and what-not, but what a nightmare it turned out to be. I basically had to re-build the entire site but I won't go into the dirty details of that, it just seemed to take a lifetime.

June 1, 2005

I finished the hockey DVD I mentioned last month, and it was a blast. It's so rewarding to see a project finalized, it gets me every time. I also did a couple of photo art samples... just more of what's possible with computers and talent these days. Thanks to the lovely Marietta Cruz for posing in the shots for me. :)

Friday the 13th, are you superstitious? I have a new cover art project here, I didn't think I'd do another one so soon, but when I saw that it was for a show in Japan I jumped all over it. I've always wanted to do something with a Japanese flavour and now I have! I hope to do more in the future.

May 1, 2005

First day of may and a new cover art project is completed. I'm not sure how much I'll get done this month since there's a little movie coming out on the 19th, you may have heard of it, it's Star Wars - Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. I'll be hosting my very own geek party opening day where we'll watch Episode II and the Clone Wars cartoons and then off to see how it all turns out later that evening. Should be a blast!

April 16, 2005

I've added a photo art section and I have a two new DVD productions, one for a hockey teams' playoffs, as well as a new website in the works. I guess I'll be busy for the next few weeks! Oh, I also made another desktop wallpaper but be warned... it's kinda scary!

April 8, 2005

At long last, erikmuna.com has launched! After many months of procrastinating, sorting out, and archiving all my work over the years, I've finally been able to put it all together in one place. I can't believe how long it took me to enter all of the content... I didn't realize how much work I had actually done!

This website is here so you can learn a little about me and it also serves as an online resume and portfolio of all the work and projects I've done over the years. It's not a fancy or cutting-edge site in itself but a more streamlined and professional layout since a site like this isn't really the place to experiment or show off. Take a look around and enjoy your stay!

March 21, 2005

Construction on erikmuna.com begins! A few different layouts and stuff to test out but mostly A LOT of data to sift through and archive. Lots of work ahead of me but it'll be well worth the effort.
